Eat well, live simply, laugh often - Part 1

Good food equals a healthier skin and body! Here are some tips and suggestions to enhance the antioxidant protection of your body.

Part 1

1. Choose seasonal fruits and vegetables. The storage life of food from the time of its production reduces its content of antioxidative vitamins.

2. When you have different kinds of vegetables and fruits in your everyday diet, you get all the antioxidants useful to the body. Try having different colors such as yellow, violet, red, green and white.

3. Always accompany your food with salad containing vegetables, fruits and herbs, high in antioxidants. You can also add olive oil, which helps the body absorb the fat-soluble carotenoids of vegetables and fruits.

4. Chop into large pieces the vegetables and fruits and consume them in a short time. Carotenoids and vitamin C are photosensitive, so their exposure to light deprives them of their valuable vitamins.

5. Drink one glass of red wine with your meal. Always in moderation. No joke… it’s really good for your heart and is full of antioxidants!

6. Try consuming fruits rich in antioxidants, between your meals, such as pomegranate, kiwi, orange, grape, and berries. Combine them with a handful of walnuts, almonds, cheese or yogurt. These foods facilitate the absorption of fat soluble carotenoids found in fruits.
