How to Clean Makeup Brushes

Did you know that 61% of women never clean their makeup brushes? This means that your best beauty tool may also be your skin’s worst enemy. While makeup residue, oil and dead skin can collect on makeup brushes and impact your skin’s health. In order to get rid of all the dirt and bacteria that accumulate on them after regular use you need to clean them often.

Fortunately, it’s really easy to clean them – and it is taking you longer to read this post than it will take you to actually do it. When wetting your brush be sure to hold it head down under luke warm water. Hot water will break up the glue in the ferrule which will loosen the bristles and destroy your brush. Be sure to work a small amount of the cleanser into the hairs. Wash thoroughly but gently and do not scrub.

A big part of cleaning your brushes is how you dry them. It is really important that you do not stand them up, as this allows water to run into the ferrule which loosens the glue. Lay them flat on the towel so that the bristles are hanging over the edge. You want the air to be able to circulate around the brushes so they can dry evenly and thoroughly.
Now that your brushes are clean, don’t neglect your face: Try Purelogicol’s Cellular Renewal Face Wash for a perfectly smooth skin!
