What causes wrinkles?
Unfortunately wrinkles are a result of getting older. The skin is made up of 3 layers, the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. As we get older the epidermal cells start to thin and as a result the skin appears thinner as collagen is not being produced by your body naturally. The way your skin looks is directly related to how much collagen you have in your skin which helps to support it.
Other factors which can increase the chances of wrinkles includes exposure to the sun, not drinking enough water and it can also be hereditary. Not protecting your skin whilst in the sun can significantly increase your chances of getting wrinkles later in life. You should always use a higher factor suncream on your face when sunbathing or cover your face by wearing a hat.
To help your skin repair itself and to prevent wrinkles you should ensure that you use a good quality moisturiser twice a day.
This will ensure that the skin is kept hydrated during the day but it also left to repair itself whilst you sleep.
