Protect your skin against sun damage

Ultraviolet light, sunlight and daylight can all help contribute towards the signs of ageing; including fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Not only can these cause premature ageing, but prolonged exposure can result in skin cancer.

The damage builds up over time and young children receive more than 70 percent of sun exposure in their lifetime before they reach the age of 18. A lot of people believe that sunscreen is just for use on holiday abroad and even then will only use a third of the recommended amount.

Dr Geoffrey Mullan set up a special Sun Clinic and he has commented on the way people protect their skin against the sun and has said: "Some people can't be bothered with the hassle of applying a cream, while others are wearing a cream that's not suited to their skin type and which can therefore lead to age spots,"

The best thing you can do for your skin is to adopt a protective sun cream into your skincare regime. There are many natural skin care products on the market now that contain natural sunscreens and will benefit your skin. The use of a good anti ageing cream is also worthwhile as this will help the elasticity in your skin and reduce the appearance of unwanted fine line, age spots and wrinkles.
