Presenting PureLogicol Scratch Magazine

After years of working in the music industry; exposing his skin to dehydrating lights, AIlan McLaughlin's skin took a turn for the worse. Deciding it was time to seek out a solution his findings led him to investigate the properties of collagen and it was here that the origins of skin care line PureLogicol began,

Three years in the making PureLogicol finds its popular supplements and deluxe creams on the dressing tables of the rich and famous; among the devotees are fashion designer Jasper Conran, presenters Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister who rave, "As we are both under constant scrutiny in front of the camera and endeavour to look our very best at all times, we have tried many products in the past - some have been effective and some have not.

The Purelogicol range works in harmony with our skin care needs and having used the supplements and mask for the last few months, the difference has been impressive."

"The response has been very positive, retailers almost take a personal pride in having discovered the brand, especially when they experience the benefits," says Allan.
"The success has truly been a word-of-mouth type process. The business is expanding so quickly I feel like I'm living out of my suitcase at the moment!

Purelogicol is now in the UK and Ireland, Norway, South Korea, Iceland and two months ago we opened our New York offices. its early stages but we've already got eight pharmacies in Manhattan and have been splashed across the papers."

So what drives a young man working in the thriving music world to start a skin care line? Allan explains, "My career started in the music industry and prolonged periods of time under dehydrating stage lights and a demanding lifestyle resulted in problematic skin.

In addition to that I still suffered pain to my knee from a childhood injury and was in conversation with specialists about alternatives to painkillers. This combined with an interest in skin care remedies and testing all types of products led to the discovery of the positive benefits of collagen.
I knew that 50% of the body's cartilage is collagen and as these levels deplete at a rate of 1.5% every year after the age of 25, any introduction into the body would promote beneficial results.

At the time collagen was administered through injections into the body and it made me question if it could be just as effective if applied to the skin or ingested into the body."

Wonder products

"At the time there weren't any collagen-based products that existed that had been specifically created to nourish and regenerate the skin. My investigations led to the further discovery that the purity and grade of collagen used made a vast difference to the direct results of product used.

I teamed up with Carole Daniells, who has been creating skin care formulations for over 25 years and we created the first Purelogicol product, a skin supplement," Allan discloses. "She's definitely the brains behind the brand while I'm more in tune with the creative side."

And collagen isn't the only ingredient, vitamins C & E and extracts of papaya among many, form the building bricks to this age-defying brand. The range is made up of- Collagen Face Mask, Velvet Face Serum, Collagen Body Supplement, Purepout Lip plumper and Lip Exfoliator.
Formulated without the inclusion of parabens, something Allan insists is one of the top reasons to use Purelogicol, he advises, "More and more companies are becoming aware that parabens could potentially have side effects.

With speculation of links to cancer, I didn't want to take any risks; I think this will become a growing trend we'll soon see more beauty brands following suit."

As the skin care market has already swollen to gigantic proportions, Allan has faith in his products and deems his philosophy as key in creating a successful brand. "I have a very strong belief in delivering my personal best everyday and am passionate about my work. Honesty and integrity are two beliefs I live by and these values are instilled throughout the company."

He continues, "I believe in having total involvement in my company. We listen to our customers and take on board what they have to say, and although I do not take every call that is put through to our customer services department, I make a point of noting all the enquiries that come in."

The future for Purelogicol is indeed bright, globetrotting the world, Allan finds himself in hot demand with TV, radio and magazine interviews lined up in the next few months. He says, "It's an exciting time, there's so much going on. For 2006 we're gearing up to launch four more products. They're all niche, all work and all have reasonable price tags.

"But more importantly I want to give something back, I especially want to show children how having an idea, a fantasy can become a reality. I didn't have a privileged background, I believed I could do something and made it happen."
