New Anti Ageing Treatments
In our quest to avoid ageing prematurely, new anti ageing treatments are proposed and used all the time. Here are just a few of the new anti ageing treatments that could be on our shopping list in the next year or so:
• Instant facelifts – cosmetic scientists have produced ‘quick facelift creams’ already using cooling technology and it is claimed that new products will be able to reduce wrinkles in just one hour. The question is, how long will it last and will it really work? If Botox can be replaced using a topical anti wrinkle cream then it would be highly popular
• Stem cell injections – Stem cells can protect and repair skin tissue. Anti ageing research in Russia is looking at using stem cells from your own body and injecting them into your skin. Currently, it is illegal and untested, not to mention expensive
• HGF – Human Growth Factors – this is a focus for many large skincare companies and their research into anti ageing. This will be applied topically and help with collagen production
• Skull lifts – yes, it seems face lifts are not enough. Our facial bones contribute to the ageing of our face as our bones also move south slightly with age. The research focuses on injections to prevent bone shift rather than having to go under the knife
Some of these sound not only expensive but painful, so until a new anti ageing topical cream radically alters the way we approach our anti ageing skincare routine, most people would probably prefer to stick with the far less painful, anti wrinkling cream.
