A good skincare routine is essential
As people get older, they often think about cosmetic surgery. Instead of doing something so drastic that may not go as well as you had originally planned, think about what you can do to slow down the ageing process and make the most of what you have.
To have the best possible skin now or in the future the best method is to start treating it with the respect and care it deserves. Many of us forget that there is nothing wrong with looking our age, the trick is to ensure that you look as good as you possibly can.
Start by adopting a good skincare regime as soon as possible, this will act as an insurance policy, especially if you are in your 20's or 30's. It is not hard to put together a good skincare regime, it can be achieved in just 5 simple steps for any skin type.
The first thing to do is find out what your skin type is, any good beautician will be able to do this for you.
If you are in your early 20's, you do not need to use heavy duty age defying creams, the use of a light moisturiser will be enough to keep your skin supple and hydrated. However, if you are over the age of 30, your skin changes and becomes dryer more quickly. Therefore, as you age, you need to change your skincare products accordingly.
Some people panic when they think they have found the first signs of ageing around your eyes, but more often than not it is just dehydration, and this can be repaired with the use of a richer moisturiser.
In your late 30's you should start adding anti ageing night creams to your skincare regime and collagen beauty products, as these can help plump up your skin, boosting its elasticity.
You should always protect your skin against UV rays and sun damage. Sun damage is one of the biggest factors that can age skin, even if you are not in the sun for a long period of time. Always use a SPF15 in your skincare routine and especially when you are on holiday abroad.
We all know that smoking is bad for our health, but it is also bad for our skin and can be very damaging to your complexion. The nicotine and smoke damage the blood vessels and impairs the skins ability to repair itself.
Eating the right food is another good way to help protect your skin and adopting a healthy balanced diet will do wonders for your complexion and appearance of unwanted wrinkles, fine lines and age spots.
